While the unit (CarPlay/Android-auto Head unit) is inactive, the original video signal is passed unchanged and your car works as before.
After activating the CarPlay/Android-auto Head unit, the CarPlay/Android-auto unit video signal is shown on the display instead.
When you reverse the car while using the CarPlay/Android-auto system, the system will automatically switch to the camera without manual operation.
You can easily switch back and forth between the CarPlay/Android-auto and your original head unit. (TIPS: Press and hold the “Menu” key to switch the system)

Only problem I’m having is connecting to the Apple car play. My phone states that it’s connected but on the screen it just shows a black screen (not sure how to fix it) It’s a little buggy and could use some touches here and there. Overall plug and play system and pretty simple to install
to replace the original screen and now is bigger brighter and has android auto!
the first issue i had, which is now resolved, is the split screen like in the "red" background photo, the resolution is to change the factory setting to NBT, as in the product description, using password 1368
now it works perfectly, the only issue now is the dash time won't update with the time setting on original screen, but other than that its a great product
I’m giving 4/5 stars because although the screen works just fine, some features leave a lot on the table. Wireless carplay is the best feature, however if you receive a call the audio doesn’t come through CarPlay, and even switching back to regular mode the audio defaults to aux and doesn’t come through the speakers. Same thing happens to spotify when playing music SOMETIMES, and sometimes it works fine, calls NEVER work. When you plug the phone into usb, audio doesn’t work at all. I feel like there must be some kind of software debugging to fix these errors and help with compatibility. Shipping was fast and so was delivery. Company is definitely legit, product looks great, definitely convenient for long drives and wireless carplay works just fine. I had to change settings since the screen thinks you’re upgrading from smaller 6.5in by default and my car came with the 8.8in. Brightness can be an issue when really sunny or when driving at night (Password to access settings is in the product description. You’re welcome!)
A very good product that has a real CarPlay detected by apple, my minor problem was the brightness, I hardly solved my problem, if someone has the same problem, here’s the fix:
So when you start your car your screen seems like way too dark when your headlights are on, then when you turn off your headlights, it comes bright again, so I’ve searched everywhere to find the fix and I’ve seen the setting named « headlight detection » in the factory settings (the password for the factory setting is 1368 at least for me) so now I can drive during the day with full brightness and the headlights turned on ! So yeah it’s a great product, works fine but keep in mind that if you want to use the wireless CarPlay, you’ll have a bit of a sound latency, so I personally use the wired CarPlay and it works perfectly, if you find the screen too bright during night you can still modify it in the settings (in the android menu).

HOW DO i KNOW IF MY CAR IS/supports NBT system? MY current BMW has already an OEM 8.8 Idrive display from factory. but it's damages. That's is why I'm looking to replace it by this product ( new screen + carplay). Pls confirm if supported
